Imagine feeling at your very best every morning and not feeling tired, anxious, or depressed all the time. Imagine feeling like you can manage your mental health issues, addiction, combat cravings, and find a healthy way to cope with life’s stresses. At 180 Sanctuary, we take a holistic approach to treatment and focus on healthy living. Don’t just imagine feeling your best — THE BEST VERSION OF YOU STARTS HERE.

Nutrition
We believe that recovery should encompass a person’s entire well-being, therefore we treat the person as a whole. In doing so we address mental, spiritual, and physical health. The holistic approach that we take will ensure that you get every resource and tool that you need to combat every aspect of your recovery.
Obtaining good nutrition is vital to every aspect of health’ and therefore greatly affects the recovery process. Those who have experienced chronic addiction and abuse can suffer from nutritional deficiencies. This leads to an increase in their risk of serious both mental and physical health problems. Many individuals enter rehab treatment both malnourished and unhealthy. Nutritional deficiencies can worsen withdrawal symptoms, bringing discouragement and making it difficult for a person to focus while in recovery. These deficiencies might also encourage cravings that could potentially sabotage a person’s recovery progress.
Because we approach recovery with the attitude of teaching life-skills and empowering people so that they can make good decisions concerning their own health, we include nutritional counselling in our comprehensive programme with our founder, Coach Anya, who is IIN Certified Health Coach. Clients receive nutritional counselling will have a much better rate of success with their sobriety once their treatment programme is complete. Once individuals have information, they tend to make positive and permanent changes in their diets.

Rehabilitation isn’t just about detox and therapy during treatment. It’s about a complete lifestyle overhaul. At 180 Sanctuary, you’ll learn new healthy routines that you’ll take with you once you leave our facility and implement into your new lifestyle. You’ll also be able to interact with like-minded people who, like you, are practicing healthy living and avoiding toxic behaviors, making it easier for you to reintegrate into society once you leave.
A healthy and active lifestyle can repair much of the damage done to the body after prolonged negligence. It can help bone and joint health and your cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Over time, proper health can even help recovering individuals regain motor skills and balance. Exercising regularly also releases endorphins and serotonin into your body. These chemicals decrease cravings, aid in sleep, combat depression and anxiety, and help improve your overall well-being.

Trauma Release Exercise (TRE)
TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, and also calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE®) is based on the fundamental idea; backed by research, that stress, tension, and trauma is both psychological and physical. TRE® is designed to be a self-help tool that, once learned, can be used independently as needed throughout one’s life, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and wellness.

Proper breathing makes life easier and more enjoyable overall; it releases tension, reduces anxiety, promotes physical health, and can even aid physical pain. Transformational breathwork takes proper breathing to another level entirely; it is thought to benefit people experiencing issues such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Chronic pain
  • Anger issues
  • Depression
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Grief and loss
  • Emotional effects of physical illness
